Isaiah Paoletto

When the Valley Forge Patriots need a steady hand and a fearless shot, they look to the player in jersey No. 5. Guard Isaiah Paoletto doesn’t just fill up the box score — he sets the standard. Known for leading by example and holding himself and his teammates to high expectations, Paoletto has become the heartbeat of the Patriots’ backcourt and a key reason the Valley Forge community is excited every time the boys’ varsity team takes the floor.

On paper, Isaiah’s impact is easy to see. He’s averaging 9.7 points, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.9 rebounds per game, a well-rounded stat line that shows up in every corner of the court. But behind those numbers is a player who embraces the toughest assignments and biggest moments. Whether he’s pushing the pace in transition, digging in on defense or making the extra pass, Isaiah plays with a calm intensity that raises the level of everyone around him.

Nothing showcased his determination more than the comeback win against Bay. After a quiet first half, Isaiah came out of the locker room with a different gear, scoring all of his points in the second half as Valley Forge battled back. Possession by possession, he chipped away at the deficit — attacking the rim, knocking down shots and providing the spark the Patriots needed. That second-half surge wasn’t just about scoring; it was about belief. Isaiah’s response in that game sent a clear message to his teammates: no matter the score, the Patriots are never out of iHis clutch gene has surfaced in other big moments as well, including pressure-packed shots against Oberlin. In late-game situations, when the gym gets loud and every possession matters, Isaiah has shown the willingness to step into the spotlight and deliver. Those timely buckets have helped turn tight contests into Patriot highlights, and they’ve also earned him the trust of coaches and teammates who know he’ll embrace the moment instead of shying away from it.

What truly sets Isaiah apart, though, goes beyond scoring and stat sheets. He leads by example in practice, in the locker room and on game nights. By holding himself and others to high standards, he’s helped shape a culture where effort, accountability and composure come first. Younger players watch how he carries himself — how he sprints to drills, listens intently, and bounces back from mistakes — and they follow his lead. That kind of quiet leadership is the foundation of a program, and Valley Forge is feeling its impact.

As the Patriots’ season rolls on, Isaiah Paoletto stands as a prime example of what Valley Forge basketball is all about: toughness, teamwork and pride in representing the school and community. With his combination of production, poise and leadership, he’s not just helping the Patriots compete today — he’s setting a standard that future players will look up to for years to come.

Hadeel Abuqbitta

For Valley Forge High School’s Patriots women’s wrestling team, Senior standout Hadeel Abuqbitta is the definition of a trailblazer. An honor student, team leader and record-setting wrestler, Hadeel doesn’t just win matches — she elevates everyone around her. Balancing tough practices, strong academics and deep involvement in school activities, she has become a go-to example of what it means to represent the Patriots with pride.

On the mat, Hadeel’s achievements speak loudly. She owns the team’s fastest pin at an incredible 10 seconds, a feat that shows just how prepared and focused she is from the opening whistle. She also holds the fastest technical fall (tech) on the squad at 3:29, and has racked up the most techs this season with three — including two dominant 15-0 victories. With 90 points scored in just 15 matches, Hadeel has become a reliable source of momentum and scoring power in the Patriots’ lineup.

Hadeel is also riding a four-match win streak and is hungry to keep it going, a reflection of the quiet confidence she brings to every competition. Teammates see how seriously she takes preparation, from drilling technique to staying mentally locked in, and they feed off her energy. When Hadeel steps onto the mat, the team knows they have a competitor who will battle for every point and represent Valley Forge with toughness and heart.

Yet, as impressive as her statistics are, it’s Hadeel’s character that truly sets her apart. She is an honor student who manages her academic workload with the same discipline she shows in the wrestling room. Teachers and coaches alike see her as a dependable leader — someone who leads by example, encourages others and shows respect to opponents and officials. Her involvement in school activities beyond wrestling helps connect the program to the wider student body, building spirit and support for the Patriots women’s wrestling team.

As a great leader, Hadeel is the kind of teammate who celebrates others’ successes just as much as her own. Younger wrestlers look up to her for guidance, whether it’s learning a new move, staying positive after a tough match or finding balance between sports and school. Her presence has helped shape a culture where hard work, humility and team-first attitudes are the norm.

Looking ahead, Hadeel plans to continue her wrestling career in college next year, carrying the Valley Forge name with her to the next level. Her journey is already a point of pride for the Patriots community, and her story shows what’s possible when talent meets dedication. As she chases more wins and prepares for life after high school, Hadeel Abuqbitta stands as a powerful example of what it means to be a Patriot — strong, committed and ready to lead the way.
