Hello! My name is Camarion Wadsworth and I would like to tell you about how sports impacted my high school career. Lets start with the opportunities high school sports has given me, like allowing me to work on my skills and use them on the field or the court to help me compete with people bigger or faster than me. Not only does it give me the opportunity to enhance my skills but also the ability to meet coaches with experience in the sports I play and give me the advice and tools I need to learn more. Not only did sports make me a good athlete but it made me an even better leader, as I once was an underclassmen looking up to those upperclassmen for help. I am thankful for the time spent playing with the many teammates I encountered and glad to be a leader for the underclassmen to look up to. My high school career has also shown me in order to stay a great athlete you also need to stay a great student in the classroom, learning these things has helped me grow as an athlete but also as person overall. There are some challenges that I have gone through on my high school journey such as maintaining a GPA such as 3.0 or higher , a job, but also injuries and yet I was able to overcome those challenges and the lessons I have learned playing sports and studying in the classroom will help me to carry on in all aspects of my life. So I would like to take this time to thank the teachers or coaches for nominating me for this award and to thank all of the people that have helped me on my high school journey as you all were apart of making me who I am today.
