Under the guidance of head coaches Kyle Hronek and Jon Taylor, the Valley Forge High School Patriots Cross Country team is poised for a promising season. Hronek, entering his tenth season, and Taylor, his second, are focused on building a strong team dynamic and endurance as the season approaches.
The Patriots' schedule is packed with challenging meets starting on August 23 at Berea-Midpark High School, followed by weekly competitions against teams like Avon Lake, Buckeye (Medina), Boardman, and Woodridge. A highlight of the season includes the Patriot Invite on September 20 at their home venue, which promises to showcase their mid-season form.
The team boasts a roster of talented runners including Sofian Attab, Ewan Bak-Meyer, Patrick Lloyd, and Kristian Pekurar, who are expected to lead by example and push their teammates to excel. Coach Hronek's philosophy for the season, ' You have to get comfortable being uncomfortable,' reflects the team’s preparation ethos focused on resilience and adaptability.
The pivotal point in the season will be the CWC Championships on October 11 at Buckeye High School (Medina). The season will wrap up with the OHSAA Post-Season Meet, a critical event that could define their season's success.
