Football Season Preview

The Valley Forge Patriot Football team is gearing up for the start of their 2024 season. They have completed two scrimmages against North Royalton and Brecksville and will open the season this Friday on the road vs. Gilmour. The Patriots are coming off of a 4-7 season and hope to build off of their late season momentum. They will face two new opponents this year in the Westlake Demons and North Olmsted Eagles. While the Patriots offense lost 95% of their offensive production from last season they will have plenty of opportunities for younger athletes to make an impact. The offensive line returns 4 starters in Duane John, Anthony Rivas, Bjordi Mene, and Nathan Clark. Strong armed Sean Frank will get the nod under center while our running game will be led by a bruising Daymon Watts and a shifty Archie Fullah.The defense returns one of their leading tacklers in Evan Tappe. Valley Forge Cross Country Season PreviewAs the fall season kicks off, the Valley Forge High School Cross Country team is set for an exciting and competitive year. With a strong mix of returning veterans and promising newcomers, the team is ready to hit the ground running, literally and figuratively.Men's TeamThis year's team is led by experienced seniors like Donovan Moriarty and Daniel Sanabria. These seniors bring leadership and consistency to the squad. Their experience will be crucial in guiding the younger athletes and setting the pace for the season. Junior Patrick Lloyd and Kristian Pekurar are standout juniors who had successful seasons last year. Known for their hard work and endurance, they have been training hard over the summer and are expected to be top contenders on the team. We are very excited about the development of this year’s Valley Forge Golf Team. Having graduated five of our six Varsity players a year ago, this year’s focus is on two things: potential and future. We have a great mix when it comes to age, but are still finding our way when it comes to experience on the golf course. The player with the most experience is Senior Billy Jobes. Billy works hard, gives maximum effort and really sets the tone. Other Seniors on the team are Stephen Baker and Tyler Chong. Although new to the golf program, their age and maturity really sets a great example for the younger guys in the program. Along with the Seniors, it has been exciting to watch the progress and development of younger guys: Nolan Orlowski, Myles Wisniewski, Brody Daniels, Nick Turko and Aidyn Petitto. Girls Soccer Season Preview

The Valley Forge girl's soccer team led by head coach David Ehlert and assistant coach Lexie Medalis has kicked off the 2024 season. The team returns 11 letter winners from last year. Seniors include Katheryne Gomez, Amber Kennedy, Blessing Mbachu, Liyah Navarro, Kayla Rauschkolb, and Melina Schaum. Juniors are Claire Farson, Mikayla Hoang, Peyton Revilock, and Amelia Vassanelli. Coaches Ehlert and Medalis are excited about the potential of the sophomore and freshman classes. The players challenge themselves every day in practice to forge ahead toward a successful and exciting season. Coaches Ehlert and Medalis have been most impressed by the player's technical skill, tactical knowledge, and selfless commitment to being excellent teammates. VF Mourns the loss of John Stavole

June 10, 2024Legenday Valley Forge basketball coach and 2014 VF Hall of Famer John Stavole has passed away. One of Valley Forge’s most successful head coaches John Stavole led the Patriots' boys’ basketball program for 20 years. Coach Stavole guided his 1987-88 basketball team to the OHSAA Final Four. Numerous teams achieved a high level of success under Stavole. His 1996-97 team advanced to the regional final. Stavole’s teams also appeared in the regionals in 1989, 1992 and 1995. The Patriots also earned five district championships, eight sectional championships and three conference championships under Stavole’s tutelage. He is a two-time GCBCA Coach of the Year and was the 1992 Cuyahoga Country Coach of the Year. After his career at VF, Stavole was an assistant at John Carroll University for eight seasons helping the Blue Streaks earn five OAC titles and make four NCAA Division III appearances. Nevaeh Hall State Qualifier - School Record Holder

State Qualifier Nevaeh Hall 200 m This past weekend Nevaeh Hall competed in the OHSAA Track and Field Championship in Dayton at Welcome Stadium. Nevaeh was one of only 2 underclassmen across the state in an extremely competitive field. She ran a fantastic race clocking in at 25.29 with a 15th place overall finish. Her qualifying time at Port Clinton Regional of 25.22 is a new school record. We are extremely proud! >

Nevaeh Hall - State Bound

Congratulations to Nevaeh Hall for qualifying for the OHSAA Division I Track and Field State Championship in the 200 meter. Nevaeh placed 5th in a very competitive field at the Port Clinton Regional with a time of 25.22 seconds. This time allowed Nevaeh to grab one of the two at large spots across the state qualifying her for the state championship.
We knew going into regionals how tight and competitive the field would be. We felt good about our strategy and worked very hard on a good finish. Nevaeh executed that strategy perfectly and had an outstanding race. She is a competitor and rises to the occasion. She was in 8th place rounding the curve and just kept accelerating to a strong fifth place finish. She ran with an incredible amount of heart. She is a competitor and rises to the occasion. We are very proud of her!
Nevaeh will compete on Friday May 31st at Welcome Stadium in Dayton! Good Luck Nevaeh!
